June
16th June: This week saw Adult Learners Week led by the National Voice for Lifelong Learning. We had a reading event hosted by Burnley College as well as sessions for staff and awards to present. Health and Social Care Awards were presented to staff members Katie, Joyce and Michael, supported by Gaye Jackson, the Assistant Head of Education Management at Health Education North West, Helen Scott our Head of Organisational Development and Service Director Lee Taylor.
23rd June: There’s another innovation as Mark Hindle started his Birthday Breakfasts with staff members. These are informal chats over a coffee, fruit or croissant with colleagues celebrating their big day each month. There’s no agenda, just a chance to listen and engage on topics raised by those attending. The sessions continue monthly, typically attracting around a dozen or so people to each hour long meeting in Herbstones Restaurant.
30th June: The second annual Trust cricket competition against Mytton Fold Hotel took place at Whalley Cricket Club this evening. Calderstones were 65 for 9 but the hotel achieved 66 for 9. What mattered most was the fun and good will
(and the barbeque afterwards).

19th June: Colleagues spoke about psychological therapies for offenders with LD and ASD in London at the Health and Learning Disability Network conference.
26th June: The ground-breaking Companions in Compassion programme came to the Trust as Professor Stephen Wright of the Sacred Space Foundation led a session on self-compassion in the quiet, therapeutic environment of Bank End Barn today.
Also today, we celebrated the service users and staff who took the level 2 food safety course. All passed!
