08 : CONNECT - WINTER 2014/15
Celebrating Success
December began with a huge ‘thank you’ to our very best staff. A glittering night at a local hotel with food, dancing and a guest speaker was
the reward for colleagues nominated for their achievements across several categories.
Staff submitted nominations for their peers which were discussed by a panel which included governors, a service user, staff side and executives. They selected those with the greatest and most detailed evidence for awards themed to the Trust’s values.
On the night of the ceremony, Mark and Rupert paid tribute to individuals and teams who have excelled in their work, as well as giving public recognition for people involved in our Skills for Health Quality Mark, the Big Idea suggestion scheme and long serving members of staff. Directors presented awards, Oscar-style, with nominations detailed and golden envelopes to reveal the winners.
Trust chairman Rupert Nichols said: “We need to ensure we maintain that link ‘From Board to Ward’. Tonight, in all of you, we can see that in practice. The names you will hear as we go through the nominations represent pretty much everything we do as a Trust and you are all winners.”
“Only one person can be the Trust’s employee of the year and we can have only one team of the year but to have been nominated by your peers and selected by the panel really means that every person here tonight should feel proud of themselves. On behalf of the Board, can I thank you for your work, for your professionalism and your dedication.”
The Chairman and Chief Executive both spoke of their pride in the individual stories and details about the nominees, evidencing the work they do for service users and the organisation. They also thanked the event sponsors and organisers.
