Keeping in touch
The way in which managers meet with staff was thoroughly revised in in the last reporting period, introducing innovations such as the ‘Big Conversation’ and its successors, where the chief executive meets small groups of people from across the organisation, part of a process of increased ‘board to ward’ interactivity.
As well as improving internal communications, there has been continual work to ensure we communicate more effectively with partners and colleagues in the wider health economy. Governors are more engaged, there are dedicated web resources for carers and the Trust’s membership magazine has been well- received.
The communications manager continues to work with staff, service users, carers and governors to ensure improved clarity and an open and professional style to our website, messages and publications.
Social media, used responsibly, enables us to quickly announce news, develop links with existing and potential partners and also have the Trust play a part in wider events. You can follow us @CalderstonesFT If you aren’t a signed-up user of Twitter, you can still visit the site for news of service user successes, board activity, events and the publication of Trust data.
The results of the 2014 staff survey included Calderstones receiving the best score nationally for staff reporting good communication from senior management in Mental Health Trusts.
If you are a member of the Trust and haven’t heard from us for a while, perhaps you have changed your email address or other contact details.
