Calderstones Partnership NHS Foundation Trust 05 Yearbook 2014 - 2015
We wholeheartedly support the principle that as many individuals as possible should be able to live where they choose and receive support in the most dignified environment possible.
I would like to thank my Board colleagues for their wisdom and support during this challenging year, including those who have moved on.
I want to thank Jonathan Drew, my immediate predecessor and a stalwart of the Audit Committee, who led the Trust through difficult times. We have two new Non-Executive Directors, Megan Nurse and Ian Bevan, who
I welcome. They bring additional and complementary skills to the Board
I pay tribute to Dr Fran Foster as she comes to the end of her time as Medical Director. I thank Paula Braynion for her skills, particularly
as Director of Operations and now as Managing Director of a wholly- independent Future Directions and
I welcome Lee Taylor as her successor. I also want to thank
those who served on the Council
of Governors in the last year; especially those who stood down at the end of their terms of office, or as they retired or moved on.
It is also fitting to record my appreciation on behalf of the Board
to all our staff across Calderstones who deliver dedicated and compassionate care every day –
we recognised many of them at the Celebrating Success Awards just before Christmas – but there are many, many more. I also pay real tribute to the achievements of service users on the wards, in activities and crafts, in our wonderful on-site college and at conferences and events across the country.
The year ahead will see the Trust evolve as it faces the challenges of some of that political focus and our sustainability as an independent organisation in the changing NHS world we live in. The Board has embraced the need for change and
is clearly sighted on the work needed and the dedication required to provide safe and sustainable services.
Whatever the outcome of our current discussions with partners and NHS England regarding our future, what matters most to of all us is that throughout the process we ensure for everyone that we support their future care is of the highest standard and in the best environment available.
